Louis Boyd founded the company in September 1960, when he was just 26 years old, as one of the first dedicated menswear retailers in the town of Newry. Louis Boyd Fashions, as it was then known, grew hugely in popularity providing the people of Newry with brands and styles that they had rarely seen before. Over the years, men and women got a taste of top brands and new styles, such as tapered trousers, slim fit shirts, and more, all of which were available at Louis Boyd's.

Louis Boyd now specialises in casual wear, foot wear, formal wear, as well as hiring/buying of menswear for formal occasions.
